Spirit Of Courage Frequently Asked Questions

1. When and where is the Spirit of Courage Golf Tournament?

This year's event will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Dodge Riverside Golf Club, 2 Harrah's Blvd, Council Bluffs, IA 51501. Check-in begins at 8 am, and the tournament begins at 9 am (shotgun start).

2. When and where is the Spirit of Courage Gala?
This year's event will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the Mid-America Center, 1 Arena Way, Council Bluffs, IA 51501. The event begins at 6 pm, with a cash bar, happy hour and silent auction. Dinner starts at 7 pm. You will be able to bid on silent auction items from your mobile device and participate in Raise the Paddle. All funds raised will support the Spirit of Courage Cancer Center Charitable Patient Care Fund.

3. What should I wear?
We recommend semi-formal/cocktail attire (suit and tie, blazer, dress pants, cocktail dress, midi dress, pantsuits, separates), but feel free to wear your favorite outfit or dress to the nines and make it an extra special evening! It's up to you! Click here to see photos from past galas. 

4. Should I bring my mobile device?
Yes, Yes, Yes! We mean, YES, please bring your phone! You will need it to bid on the amazing silent auction items and to Raise your Paddle! If you are at home, you can bid and contribute on your mobile phone or computer.

5. Where will I be able to park at the Gala?
There is ample parking at the Mid-America Center.

6. Will I get a receipt for any purchases or donations?
All receipts for the evening will be emailed at the conclusion of the event (no later than Friday, August 8).

7. Is my information secure?
All guest and payment information is used for event purposes only and never sold or shared. Transactions are made via a secure payment server.

8. Will I receive an actual ticket?
Good question! You will NOT receive a physical ticket. You will be notified of your table and bidder numbers when you check in at the event. Doors open at 6 pm.

9. I won an item in the silent auction. How do I pick it up?
Congratulations on your win! The checkout area will open after Raise the Paddle closes at approximately. 9:00 pm. There will be several volunteers ready to help you collect your winnings!

10. Can I bid in the silent auction if I am unable to attend the event?
Absolutely! You can sign up for the silent auction by visiting https://jehfoundation.org/events/spirit-of-courage and clicking the "Bid on Items Now" button. If you win an auction item, we will contact you the week after the event to arrange for pickup at the Jennie Edmundson Foundation. 933 E. Pierce St, Council Bluffs, IA 51503.
