Lena Dora Killion, age 98, of Oakland, Iowa, passed away at her home on August 13, 2026, just three weeks shy of her 99th birthday.

She was born September 4, 1927, to the late John and Mary (Niemann) Schorsch. Lena grew up on the family farm located just outside of Bentley, Iowa. She graduated from Underwood High School with the class of 1945. After graduation, she began working as a secretary for Father Flanagan at Boy’s Town in Omaha. On February 2, 1947 she married Richard Killion and they moved to the Killion family farm where she continued to live until her passing.

Lena was a member of the Oakland Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, fishing and rock collecting. There are many fond memories of yearly fishing trips with friends to Otter Tail, MN and fun times with family at Lake Okoboji. Lena especially loved doting on her grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Many of whom claimed to be her favorite. Lena was fun loving and had a great sense of humor and was silly to the end.

In addition to her parents, Lena was preceded in death by her husband Richard; her daughters Linda Hartje and Jeannine Orris; son-in-law, Dr. James Hartje; sisters Martha Case and Betty Evans; and brothers Carl Schorsch and William Schorsch.

Lena is survived by her sons, Dean Killion (Kim) and Rick Killion (Jill); eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister Jacqueline Minikus (Danny); sister-in-law Pauline Schorsch; brother-in-law Don Killion and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Lena will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 1:00 PM, at the Oakland Christian Church. Visitation with the family will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Oakland Christian Church or the Jennie Edmundson Foundation https://jehfoundation.org/donate-today . September 4, 1927 — August 13, 2026

Kathryn (Kathy) Diane Riedemann, 64, of Council Bluffs, IA passed away early Wednesday morning, March 4, 2026, at Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha surrounded by family and loved ones.

Born December 1st, 1961, to Daniel (Dan) and Elizabeth (Liz) Love of Crescent, Iowa, Kathy, was the beautiful wife of Jeffrey Riedemann and wonderful mother to Taylor, Jacob, and Sophie. After graduating from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1980, where she was part of the Cheer Team, Kathy went to Jennie Edmundson Hospital Nursing School. Growing up, she fondly remembered singing the Sound of Music soundtrack with sisters Sue Ann Schuster and Krissy Greiwe and hanging with all her Nelson and Love cousins who lived just down the long, country road. She always told us kids about her big brother, Scott Love, using her dolls for target practice for his GI Joes, but loved his teasing personality all the same.

Following in her mother, Liz’s, footsteps, Kathy a lifelong nurse (Jenny Edmondson, UNMC, Midwestern Surgical Hospital) had an unmatched caring demeanor. She brought joy, comfort, and ease to her patients and coworkers alike. Her coworkers smile as they talk about the “little hands” and “baby Jesus’” she hid around the hospital, for them to find with a laugh. She was truly beloved everywhere she worked.

She enjoyed family vacations to Minnesota and the Caribbean Tropics (where she thrived at building sandcastles with seaweed, shells, and loose cigarette butts as decorations), bringing family together for holiday and birthday parties, and dancing to Tom Petty and REM. Kathy had a unique skill for curating beautiful bouquets with wildflowers and weeds scrounged found on the side of gravel roads. Her creativity and passion for her family and friends (far too many to mention) knew no bounds.

Kathy loved hosting get-togethers for Taylor, Jacob, and Sophie’s friends, always preparing too much food. From Taylor’s famous 2nd grade Halloween party, Jacob’s 8th birthday party with seemingly the whole school in attendance, and Sophie’s Princess party, she always went all out. She didn’t hold back spoiling and taking care of her nieces and nephews at every opportunity as well.

She is survived by husband Jeffrey Riedemann, children Taylor, Jacob, and Sophie Riedemann. Brother Scott Love (Deb Love), sister Krissy Greiwe (Scott Greiwe). Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Preceded in death by father and mother Dan and Liz Love, sister Sue Ann Schuster, nephew Cory Jay Schuster.

Funeral service will be March 14th, 2026, at 11:30am at Cutler-O’Neill in Council Bluffs, Iowa followed by Boxer BBQ and sharing of memories across the park at the Masonic Lodge at 12:30 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Jennie Edmundson Foundation. 

December 1, 1961 — March 4, 2026

Gloria Stange passed away on Sunday, March 1st, 2026 surrounded by love.

Gloria was born to Detlef and Ardith Stange in Council Bluffs, IA. She was their only child.

Gloria grew up on a farm and went to school in Carson, IA. She played the piano at her church and was a 4-H member as a young girl.

Gloria worked for the WI Department of Revenue for many years as an auditor, her expertise was cherished by many. She volunteered for VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) giving lectures on tax law and assisting individuals with their taxes.

Gloria was involved with The Friendship Force for years hosting families from abroad. She enjoyed traveling and visited many places including her heritage in Germany, and Scotland and Africa.

She was an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Madison, involved in the Esther-Naomi Circle and Bible Study for many years.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by a cousin Connie Cryer, and other second cousins.

The family extends deepest thanks to Kerry, her amazing caregiver for five years (Home Instead), and to her Westminster Presbyterian Church family for their care and support in these recent weeks and days.

Gloria’s memorial service and celebration of life will take place on Thursday, March 12th, at 11:00 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4100 Nakoma Road, Madison, WI., with fellowship and refreshments to follow.
